2025 hasn’t turned out the way I thought it would. On New Year’s Day, I stood outside my house and planned out how the year would go for my career. I was already working on a new mafia romance, and I was planning to start a fantasy for trad that I’ve been sitting on for 11 years. Then … none of it happened. The mafia romance and the dark romance that would come after it all fell apart, and I wouldn’t start my trad fantasy until June. JUNE!!! I was flustered and floundering. So I stopped trying for a little while, and then it all came to me at once.

An idea hit me right in the chest, and it was a gift from a book I’d already published. My biggest book to date, actually.

Kingdom.

My beloved Nas Booker wrote a story that put him on the map. It was based on part of his life, and it was all about how he became a Dom. He called it Left of the Slash.

I knew I couldn’t simply write Nas’s story because everyone has already heard all about it. But that didn’t mean I couldn’t use the concept for something new. So I started outlining and came up with something that made me beyond excited.

Fast forward to August 2025, and the manuscript for Left of the Slash is over 60K words. And that trad fantasy idea? It’s over 60K too!!! I have been a writing machine, writing 2 books at the same time and making great progress. So, that’s the answer to the questions. What’s next?
