So, I’ve missed a couple of newsletters. Oops, my bad. It wasn’t intentional, and in hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have skipped them because I really use these newsletters as therapy. It’s really just my thoughts presented for my fans. But my mind is a runaway train a lot of the time, and I have a hard time catching up to it and getting things back on track. I can talk myself out of logic in a heartbeat, and convince myself that all of my fans don’t actually give a fuck about me. That imposter syndrome is real in my mind, and it’s hard to ignore. So, forgive me for missing my last 2 newsletters. I’m back on my shit.
As you can see from the image above, the cover reveal for I Love to Hate You is tomorrow, 11 July! The last time I sent out a newsletter, the title of the book was Bullies. YUCK 🤮 Why didn’t anyone tell me that was a terrible title?! I guess it wasn’t that bad, but as I was writing “Bullies,” I realized things were changing. These characters were more than just bullies, and I needed to make some very important changes. So, Bullies became I Love to Hate You, and the story went in a new BEAUTIFUL direction.
I can’t explain it all here, but let me tell you something I realized a couple of weeks ago. I Love to Hate You is my favorite book ever, and the best romance novel I’ve ever written, hands down. It’s not as kinky as Interview with a Sadist, but the romance and banter between Kendrick and Maya is on a level I’ve never been able to reach before. They’re incredible, and easily my favorite characters ever.
Luckily, the cover is one of my absolute faves, too! It’s bright, unlike nearly all of my other covers, and portrays the depth of the novel very well. I fell in love instantly, and it was the quickest approval I’ve ever given on a mockup from my cover designer.
So, all in all, this upcoming book is unlike anything I’ve ever done before. It’s me at my absolute best, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Tomorrow is my final day writing the 1st draft, and I’m gonna miss writing this story very much, but it’s almost ready to go out into the world. So, let’s start with the cover reveal, and spread it out to make my best book my most successful book yet. First off, I care so stay out of your head. Second, it’s hard to have input on covers and/or titles if I don’t fully know what the story is but I can tell you this…I LOVE the new title and this cover. It is definitely not your style which is perfectly fine and I hope this book does push you to a whole new level in the book community.
